Veteran Community Housing Coordinator

The Supportive Services for Veteran Families (SSVF) Veteran Community Housing Coordinator (VCHC) reports to

the SSVF Executive Director. The ideal candidate will develop and maintain relationships with the Department of Homeless Services (DHS), the Department of Veteran Services (DVS), the Department of Veterans Affairs (VA),community nonprofits, landlords, brokers, and SSVF grantees, working collaboratively to ensure that Veterans facing a housing crisis find suitable and appropriate housing. The Coordinator will support New York City’s goal to end Veteran homelessness by collaborating with the local Committee on the Continuum of Care (CCoC) to provide housing relocation services, develop new housing stock, and act as a resource to local nonprofits about housing resources for Veterans.

Qualifications: Bachelor’s Degree in Marketing, Management, Business Administration or a related field required; Experience in property management and/or sales preferred; Knowledge of the challenges faced by the homeless veteran population and the supportive services available to successfully achieve the goal of permanent housing and self-sufficiency; Strong leadership and organization skills; Computer literate specifically with Microsoft applications required; Knowledge and understanding of team concepts preferred and Veterans strongly encouraged to apply.
