VBA/Excel Programmer ( SQL , Oracle , Python , Java Skills )

A well-established financial services company is actively searching for a Sr. Software Engineer strong technical skills with Excel/VBA wizard who is also comfortable with Python, with Java and C# experience a plus to work on a 6 month contract assignment with option to extend. This person will be responsible to provide tactical technology solutions to the traders and portfolio managers.

Technical Knowledge:

• Excel/VBA programming wizard. SQL proficiency (pref. Oracle).
• Comfortable with Python and Java. C# experience a plus
• Using Python and Java on backend with Oracle Database
• Familiarity with calling RESTful services
• Strong grasp of proper algorithms, data structures, and design patterns.
• Additional skills:
• Work independently and elicit requirements
• Proactive and self-motivated with a positive attitude
• Excellent communication skills required
• Ability to work independently as well as a great team player

The primary responsibilities of this role includes:

• Working on multiple tactical projects for trading. Create Excel VBA prototypes and small scale applications
• Deal with emergency needs that arise in our global trade rooms using Excel and Python.
• Help other people who run into Excel problems identify what is wrong and correct it.
• Identify inefficiencies and propose technology to wipe them out.

Job Type: Contract

Salary: $55.00 to $60.00 /hour
