Utility Engineer Trainee

POSITION SUMMARY: Assists with the overall operation and maintenance of the Combined Heat and Power Plant under the direct supervision of plant management.

MINIMUM EDUCATION REQUIRED: High School Graduate

PREFERED EDUCATION: Certificate or Associates degree from an applicable trade or Engineering discipline.

MINIMUM EXPERIENCE REQUIRED: Entry level position.

PREFERED EXPERIENCE: One year of mechanical maintenance experience or schooling.

OTHER SKILLS REQUIRED: Will be required to work as part of a 24/7 posted crew schedule consisting of Days, Evenings, Weekends, Nights, and or Holidays.

OTHER SKILLS PREFERED: Possess basic hand tool and computer knowledge. Any applicable trade licenses or certificates.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS: Requires much walking and standing. May be working from ladders and step ladders. May be required to lift heavy equipment up to 70 pounds. Reaching and pulling. Must be able to wear proper Personal Protective Equipment.

WORKING ENVIRONMENT May be required to work in areas of extreme heat and cold and/or dust and dirt. May be exposed to hazards from use of electrical, mechanical and/or power equipment.
