Responsibilities

We’re looking for a talented C/C++ software engineer to join our Core Technology team in our New York City (Midtown) office. You will be working in a small, close-knit team to solve complex and challenging problems related to system performance, latency and optimization. You’ll collaborate heavily with the different trading teams within our business to gain an in-depth understanding of their work and discover ways to improve the efficiency of their strategies as well as optimizing our trading platform utilizing low level technology and network programming (including FPGA’s and Microwave technology). Our business is steadily expanding in size, asset classes and new territories. One of the core components of this role will be to continuously develop our high-performance infrastructure and assist in our growth into these new markets and geographical locations.

We invest heavily in our technology and infrastructure, and our flat collaborative and collegiate structure encourages an environment where our developers can bring their ideas / recommendations straight to senior level partners and firm founders. This role is ideal for a well-rounded, hands-on developer who is passionate about technology and will be able to make visible contributions to the team, platform and company.

Qualifications

The ideal candidate will have:

• 0-6 years commercial experience
• Expert C/C++ programming skills
• Hacker mentality
• Experience designing, architecting, coding, and optimizing low level real time systems.
• Socket, TCP/IP, UDP, Multicast and Kernel bypass experience advantageous
• Clear and confident communication skills (verbal and written)
• CS or EE educational background preferred
• Knowledge of Python and shell scripts a plus
• Working knowledge of Linux, OS internals and computer architecture (x86)
• Problem solving tinkering personality
• Meticulous attention to detail
