UNIX Systems Administrator – Systems Administration

Job Description
The UNIX Systems Administrator works in a fast paced team environment providing support, design, and development for our data centers worldwide. The ideal candidate must be a self-starter possessing sound judgment, strong problem solving skills and be able to communicate effectively with a broad range of audiences. The right candidate will like designing systems to meet business requirements and will enjoy tackling complex analysis and design. Must be available to work full time and participate in the on-call rotation.

Qualifications
ESSENTIAL EXPERIENCE

• Extensive experience supporting and designing Solaris 10 Operating System environments
• Strong skill set centered around Symantec Enterprise Suite (vxfs, vxvm, vcs) management, and environment integration
• Proficient scripting skills using C, bash, KSH and PERL
• Excellent analytical skills that demonstrate expertise with Oracle hardware (SPARC / x86), an ability to resolve break-fix issues, and an ability to identify proactive improvement opportunities

PREFERRED EXPERIENCE

• Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science or equivalent
• Experience with HDPS / CommVault backup software
• Knowledge of Red Hat Operating System
• Knowledge of Solaris 11
