Training & Retail Manager

General mission

In strong coordination with Hermes Parfums International Training Team, Area Managers and Managing Director and based upon local requirements, the Training and Retail Manager manages the regional training and develops the retail sales via store operations management. He/ She represents the brand spirit and values on the field as an Hermès ambassador.

Context

Geographical coverage:

  • HOP,
  • US travel retail,
  • Caribbean and Latin American local markets and travel retail with a focus on priority markets such as Mexico, Brazil, Argentina, Chile, Panama, Colombia and Peru.

Main activities

1) Training

Over the region:

  • Liaise with the International Training Dept in regards to the organization and planning of their Regional Training schedules and participate actively in these Training tours whenever necessary / required.
  • Ensure that all necessary training tools and materials are ordered and shipped to our distributors and agents. Control our distributors’ and agents’ forecasts of Training materials and report any discrepancy to Commercial and Marketing teams for corrective actions.
  • Make recommendations to improve training materials / contents and to meet specific needs for our region.
  • Monitor Training & Traveling expenses according to budget.
  • Ensure our Hermès Parfums BC’s grooming is always in line with Hermes Guidelines. Liaise with Marketing on the availability of BC’s uniforms, pins and scarves.
  • Work closely with International Training Dept, MOPI, Marketing Manager and Area Managers to create, develop and implement Hermes Parfums in-store retail events.

For local market:

  • In coordination with the team, organize training schedules of Hermes Boutiques Fragrance Ambassadors, Hermes Boutiques sales staff and Local Markets distributors BC’s.
  • In markets that are partially covered, liaise and follow-up to assess local Training needs and act as local Training relay whenever necessary / required.
  • Build and animate a Hermès Parfums trainer community within the region, through regional TTT seminar once a year (when budget allows), regular market coaching visits, regular conference calls, info/ training material sharing, coaching and motivation tools.
  • Follow-up with Local Markets Distributors‘ Trainers on their Training Plan / Schedule for new comers, new launches and novelties.
  • During market visits, assess local trainer knowledge, BC profiles, BC coverage scheme and VM.

For travel retail:

  • Act as a local Training relay by organizing and conducting Trainings for the key TR markets
  • Once a year (when budget allows), organize a regional Training/TTT Seminar for all our dedicated TR staff.

2) Retail (travel retail):
TR BC Management:

  • Interview and recruit Hermes Parfums BC’s according to regional needs and headcounts. Conduct induction Training programs for all new comers. Arrange ad-hoc/flash Trainings upon local requirements by TR operators.
  • Coach & motivate our Hermes Parfums BC’s on the shop floor on a regular basis. Evaluate BC’s performance through an annual personal assessment and through regular update with Retailers Operations teams.
  • Implement and follow-up BC motivation program.

TR Sell-Out / Promotion preparation and execution follow-up:

  • Follow-up Hermes Parfums retail sales performance and communicate these results to Hermes Parfums BC’s to stimulate their sell-out performance.
  • Control and follow-up promotional activities negotiated with TR agents and operators: in coordination with Regional Marketing Manager and Area Managers, ensure proper execution of all aspects related to the animation, recruit and train promoters, propose best schedule, motivate Hermes Parfums BC’s and Generic staff to meet sales targets.
  • Communicate negotiated promotion sales targets and results to BC’s before and after promotions to improve sell-out performance. Report quantitative and qualitative feedback on promotion to Marketing and Commercial teams for discussion on corrective action plans whenever necessary.
  • During store visit, report any out-of-stock situations to Area Managers.
  • Ensure that our products are displayed properly according to our VM guidelines.

Others

  • Closely monitor competition activities and feedback Managing Director whenever relevant.
  • Monitor closely our RSP to ensure they are strictly followed by TR operators. Report to Marketing and Commercial teams if discrepancy is found. To be alert on competitor’s pricing move by conducting ad-hoc price surveys whenever required.

Applicant profile

  • Minimum 5-year experience in perfume and cosmetic industry in training and/or retail (experience with make up is a plus)
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Business/Retail oriented
  • Attention to details/ Result-driven / Creative
  • Leadership, charisma and entrepreneurship spirit
  • Organizational skills
  • Willing to travel extensively (min 50% of time), with high flexibility
  • Fluent in English and Spanish / Portuguese a plus
