Position Summary

The Training Coordinator is primarily responsible for the creation, revision and oversight of the online training content, including the development of videos for blended learning and all printed materials. Reporting to the ACIS Training Manager, they will manage and maintain the departmental LMS and Intranet. Through reports, evaluate and make recommendations to adjust training effectiveness in keeping with organization requirements and departmental policy.

Position Activities

Manages and develops training course catalogue to satisfy organization workflow requirements, including those identified by partnering with service-line experts.

Responsible for the maintenance and publishing of the training library, including creation and review of training curricula. Ensures all materials, online and printed, reflect the latest EHR version and industry best standards. Creates new material as needed, i.e. videos for blended learning.

Evaluates course content and testing procedures to measure training effectiveness. Identifies recommendations and suggested adjustments, through reports, in collaboration with the training manager.

Manages the training request process to ensure availability of standard and non-standard course offerings are in compliance with departmental policy.

Manages at least one project. Reports progress to Training Manager and owns the expectation and progress of all deliverables.

Assists the training manager in maintaining the POIS training area within the LMS, for both trainers and end users.

Manages the training team’s Intranet site to ensure timely publication of all content and announcements.

Delivers training programs on all supported applications as assigned and published in the training calendar maintaining the highest standards of professionalism as an educator. Achieves and maintains certification in at least 2 training modules.

Performs other related duties as assigned.

Qualifications


Minimum Requirements

BS Degree in relevant field or equivalent combination of training and work experience.

At least 4 years of combined experience training in an ambulatory clinic setting and producing online clinical training content.

Epic Certification is desired from outset, but must be acquired during the first year. Maintenance of specific module certifications is desirable and is determined over time by ACIS leadership.

Highly Desired Requirements

Industry certification (e.g. Physician Assistant, Registered Nurse).

Experience in Instructional Design or Adult Education (IT or clinical).

Experience working with computer based learning tools. Familiar with the Epic Training Wheels tools.

Skill and Abilities

Ability to discuss general system attributes and specific capabilities and features in a group presentation setting and to work with others in a matrix management environment.

Demonstrated ability to develop proficiency with unfamiliar toolsets is required. Ability to work under tight deadlines while providing high-quality work.

Demonstrated excellent verbal and written communications, and interpersonal skills; ability to foster a cooperative work environment.

Demonstrated proficiency with all Microsoft Office Applications (including Project and Visio), Microsoft SharePoint, and project management/scheduling software.

Demonstrated working knowledge of EMPI, ADT, Registration, Scheduling, Billing, Clinical and ancillary systems utilized in hospitals and physician practices including applicable interfaces.

Demonstrated organizational skills, multi-tasking, prioritization, critical thinking, analysis, and decision-making.
