About Trade Capture

The Trade Capture function is a dedicated function sat within the Front Office to ensure the timely and accurate capture of contractual obligations on the Firm’s systems across the Macro Business. This involves the entering and accepting the economic terms of any trades into Trade Capture Systems, inclusive of subsequent Risk Modifying Activities on that trade, and encompasses a broad range of Trade Capture activity types and systems. This is to meet both our regulatory and internal control requirements.

Overall purpose of role

• The successful candidate will be part of the Trade Capture team which manages specific trade capture and closely related functions in a fast-paced and dynamic environment. The team helps maintain a high degree of accuracy around trade capture, which is crucial to the firm’s risk management and accurate books and records.

Key Accountabilities

• Booking of Trade Capture:
• Responsible for timely and accurate booking of Trade Capture, which includes the following:
• Initial Trade Capture
• Lifecycle Events (product dependent but includes and is not limited to Cancellations, Recoupon, Manual Fee Bookings, Manual Fixings, Loan Rollovers)
• Credit Events (product dependent but includes and is not limited to Reference Obligation Changes, Credit Events, Restructuring)
• Position Changes (Backloading, Barrier Knock-Ins/Outs, Buy Backs, Assignments/Novations, Terminations (Full & Partial)
• Portfolio Optimization – bilateral portfolio compressions, multilateral (i.e. triOptima) and internal compressions
• Other including Rematch and Delta Neutral Auctions, Exercises, Expiry, Redemptions, Maturity, Up/Down sizes
• Responsible for exception and query management
• Liaise with internal counterparts (i.e. Infrastructure Middle Office, Client Operations, Trade Control, Post-Trade Services, Sales, Trade Support, Legal, Finance, Compliance, New Product Services, Collateral Ops) to understand requests for entries required to ensure accurate capture in our systems
• Report to management on requests received and completed
• Adhere to a ‘right first time’ policy on all Trade Capture activity
• Input real-time exceptions related to regulations into Trade Capture Systems (e.g. Dodd-Frank mandatory clearing)
• Other:
• Upon request, perform specification and testing of improvements for all systems and processes
• Uphold the controls and procedures for the team
• Proactively seek cross-training opportunities for on all functions performed within the team and across the wider department.

Person Specification

Basic Qualifications/Skills:

• 1-2 years experience in an operational environment.
• Bachelor’s degree in Business/Finance

Preferred Qualifications/Skills:

• Strong knowledge of Microsoft Excel
• Excellent verbal and written skills. Fluent in English
• Understand the Front to Back lifecycle of a trade and its associated risks to the firm and to clients
• Experience gained in high volume House and client service environment
• Knowledge of Markets (Interest Rate Derivatives, Interest Rate Options, and/or Structured Notes)
• Specific product & system knowledge may be required
