TISSUE RECOVERY TECHNICIAN (ON-CALL / PER DIEM)

This is an on-call opportunity in Boise, ID.

Community Tissue Services (CTS) is a not-for-profit tissue bank founded and headquartered in Dayton OH. CTS proudly serves the public through recovery, processing and distribution of human tissue grafts used for transplantation in life-saving and life-enhancing procedures. CTS is currently one of the largest US tissue banks, distributing nearly 10% of the tissue grafts in the United States. We are the largest nonprofit provider of skin grafts to surgeons for severe burn patients. CTS is accredited by the American Association of Tissue Banks (AATB), and strives to be on the forefront of new graft development and biotechnology to better serve recipients and medical professionals.

The Recovery Technician is a vital member of a team performing amazing work – recovery of donated human bone and tissue which will be used for transplantation. As a steward of these extraordinary gifts, you will have the opportunity to positively impact the lives of potentially over 50 people per recovery. As a Recovery Technician, you will perform surgical recovery of tissue, prepare and maintain instruments and supplies for use in recoveries, and ensure an adequate inventory of supplies is on hand. You will also experience the sense of satisfaction and reward in knowing that the work you perform has a direct impact on the lives of many other people.

This position is strictly on-call. You will provide your availability, which must meet our minimum requirements, however a set schedule is not guaranteed. Our minimum availability requirement is ten 12-hour shifts per month OR fifteen 8-hour shifts per month. This position is not eligible for insurance benefits.

Education and Experience

  • Minimum of an Associate’s Degree or Certification in a healthcare field required.
  • Experience or training in surgical technology/operating room procedures, allied health, medical, technical or mortuary field preferred. br>

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

  • Knowledge of gross anatomy and sterile technique desirable. Must be able to meet deadlines and work within strict timelines.

Work Environment and Physical Activities

  • Must be able to meet minimum on-call requirements, including weekends and holidays.
  • Overnight travel may be required, including flights on chartered or commercial aircraft.
  • Must possess a valid driver’s license and be considered insurable by CBC/CTS insurance provider.
  • Must be able to lift or carry up to 50 pounds, and greater than 50 pounds with assistance.
  • Must be able to meet the required physical demands with or without reasonable accommodation. br>
