POSITION SUMMARY

  • Answers, assesses and directs calls quickly and efficiently in a pleasant, helpful and professional manner. Provides exceptional customer service through positive communication.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Receives incoming telephone calls, either directly or from the switchboard.
  • Answers the telephone, assesses calls in order of priority, determines whether emergent/urgent, and directs to the appropriate person.
  • Provides information to callers.
  • Take messages and directs as needed.
  • Schedules, cancels and reschedules appointments.
  • Enters referrals and attaches to visits.
  • Writes CSN, DOS information on documents for scanning.
  • Provides intermittent coverage for PSR position.
  • Schedules language and non-language interpreters.
  • Works the department referral request que (calling patient to schedule appts).
  • Updates insurance information and demographics.
  • Page providers.
  • Fax information as requested.

REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE & SKILLS

  • Ability to work with patience and courtesy in customer relations.
  • Ability to communicate effectively, both verbally and in writing. Strong organization skills.

EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE/LICENSURE

  • Education: High School Diploma or equivalent required.
  • Experience: Prior experience operating a multi-line telephone helpful.

COMPENSATION IS BASED ON YEARS OF CUSTOMER SERVICE/RECEPTIONIST EXPERIENCE: $11.58=0 years, $14.47=10 years, $17.37=20+ years
