The Wastewater Services Technician is responsible for all systems involving the collection, treatment, stream segregation and quality control of all wastewater collection systems for the site. In the event of a power outage or system failure must be competent to restore the water collection and treatment as soon as possible. Wastewater Services Technicians must also ensure proper treatment and disposal of the industrial wastewater, staying within city, state, and federal discharge permits.

Job Tasks and Responsibilities:

  • Perform the procedures and tasks associated with each wastewater system.
  • Complete and keep preventative maintenance procedures associated with the wastewater purification equipment up to date.
  • Respond to, identify, prioritize, and resolve alarms associated with the waste treatment systems.
  • Assist in the installation and removal of complete or partial waste treatment process systems.
  • Maintain contact with Fab personnel with regard to wastewater processes.
  • Keep work environment clean and safe.
  • Keep costs to a minimum in the day-to-day operations of the plant.
  • Must be pro-active in the event of a system failure.
  • Become familiar with all Fabs and production areas; equipment drains, technician contacts, supervisors, and Fab managers.
  • Monitor and adjust control systems accordingly.
  • Write up new and maintain all systems operations specs, OEM manuals, lock out-tag out procedures, and one-line diagrams.
  • Complete and stay current on all department and company related training.
  • Work overtime to cover shifts or as needed.
  • Perform other job-related duties as assigned.

Minimum Requirements:

  • Demonstrates ability to handle basic arithmetic calculations (addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division).
  • Demonstrates an understanding of basic mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, and chemical principles.
  • Familiar with operational principles and procedures.
  • Able to lift 50 lbs.
  • One year of water or wastewater training and/or experience is desirable.
  • Mechanical experience in a related field is helpful.
  • One year of experience with water or wastewater treatment.

    Educational Requirements:

    Associates degree in applicable field or equivalent
