The IT Support Analyst will support the Controls Southeast (CSI) Business

CSI provides ControTrace® steam tracing solutions to heat process piping, tanks, & vessels; and CSI provides ControHeat® steam jacketing solutions to heat valves and instruments used in the petrochemical, chemical, and processing industries. CSI also provides the SxSeal™ above-ground sulfur seal solution, pre-insulated tubing bundles, and many more engineered thermal maintenance solutions.

Summary

The analyst’s primary responsibility will be to provide end user support mainly at AMETEK’s Pineville location and to act as backup support for the St. Louis and Carson City sites. The analyst will also be responsible for common IT maintenance tasks. The Analyst will occasionally be called upon to work on various IT projects not directly related to end user support. All tasks will require working cooperatively with IT personnel at the Business Unit, Division, and Corporate levels.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

• Provide first application level phone/email support to employees, both on site and remote

• Analyze problems, answer questions and provide training about the software used within the company

• Make basic customizations based on employee needs

• Identify, test, and identify workarounds for bugs

• Provide regular updates to employees on open support issues through ticketing system

• Research issues dealing with 3rd party technology

• Assist in creating and editing of training materials and manuals

• Manage local and offsite backups

• Manage user accounts in various business systems (Active Directory, ERP, CRM, etc.)

• Install, test, maintain, repair and network computers and peripherals

• Manage local PBX system and cellular device accounts

• Occasional after hours and weekend support

• Occasional travel

• Maintain compliance with company policies and regulations

Position Requirements

• Excellent problem solving skills

• Proficiency with business software

• 3+ years’ experience in IT support

• Knowledge of:

o Networks (LAN/WAN)

o Windows OS

o Microsoft SQL Server

o Microsoft Exchange

Preferred Education and/or Experience

• Supporting Autodesk products (AutoCAD & Inventor)

• Some Programming experience (ideally VB.net)

• Working in a manufacturing environment

• Working in a large corporate environment

Language Skills

Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. Ability to write routine reports and correspondence. Ability to speak effectively before groups of employees of organization.

Mathematical Skills

Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, commissions, proportions, percentages, area, circumference, and volume. Ability to apply concepts of basic algebra and geometry.

Reasoning Ability

Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form. Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations. Ability to deduce solutions for novel problems utilizing research and past experience as necessary.
