Technical Project Manager, Business Process Improvement

We are currently seeking a Technical Project Manager with experience managing service operations/process improvement projects, as well as managing enterprise-wide implementations of new technologies, to join our Engineering Process Group. The position would involve working with Engineering and Product teams, executive sponsors, and a wide group of stakeholders. As part of the Engineering Process group, the person in this role will work closely with the Quality team and the Product Success team.

Responsible for assisting in process design, improvement and process management activities by leveraging matrixed teams, innovative business models, systems, processes, and tools. Activities include documenting, performing, and implementing process improvement initiatives. These initiatives may represent one portion of a larger project or may represent a stand-alone initiative. Process management functions may include data gathering and analysis, best practice research, process mapping, developing and recommending alternatives for improvement, developing performance metrics, obtaining leadership or stakeholder agreement, implementing improvements, and monitoring post-process improvement initiative performance to updated standards. Activities are undertaken and executed in support of organizational goals and are accountable for providing business process solutions to meet internal and external customer expectations.

We work in a fast-paced environment and are seeking someone who is self-motivated, detail-oriented, and comfortable working in a distributed team. This is an ideal opportunity for an individual with a passion for advertising technology and solving complex business and technical challenges. The right person will embody project management and process improvement principles and lead by example. The position is preferably based out of New York or North Carolina, and other MediaMath office locations in the U.S. will be considered; Willingness to travel to HQ in NYC is a must.

What you’ll do:

  • Project Manage process improvement initiatives related to the Service Management Framework, including, but not limited to, Service Catalog, Problem Management, Request Fulfilment, Event Management, Change Management, Release Management.
  • Partner with process owners across the Engineering org to continually improve the way we operate; liaison between Engineering Process Group and service owners.
  • Prepare and maintain program/project plans. Proactively manage technical programs, projects and initiatives
  • Define/Establish/Communicate Roles and Responsibilities; provide oversight to processes in various Service Management roles as needed (e.g., Change Manager, Problem Manager).
  • Drive Engineering process improvement initiatives in partnership with the Product Success team, Engineering Quality team, and Data Policy & Governance team.
  • Improve process maturity, analyze/measure against Key Performance Indicators, enabling data-driven decisions.
  • Program Management – Coordinate initiatives aimed at Accelerating our Development Velocity. Facilitate alignment and communication with cross-functional groups to ensure successful completion of program deliverables.
  • Uses efficient and cost-effective approaches to integrate technology into the workplace and improve program effectiveness.
  • Proactively engage stakeholders and project team members to actualize change initiatives. Develop and/or encourage new ideas/approaches. Establish procedures and practices which promote the adoption of appropriate solutions and sustainability of desired results in highly complex environments.
  • Effectively and proactively communicate risks and issues to affected parties and actively participate in issue and conflict resolution
  • Work with other Project/Program Managers to establish best practices and standardize existing business processes while maintaining efficiency, reducing cost, improving sustainability and maximizing profitability
  • Successful delivery of special projects, including but not limited to: training material creation & roll-out, employee communications, process definition and design, and presentation creation

What you’ll need:
Background

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, another STEM field, or Business, OR have a proven track record of demonstrating equivalent knowledge.
  • At least 3 years’ experience in project management
  • PMP (Project Management Professional) certification preferred
  • ITIL/ITSM training/experience preferred
  • Lean Six Sigma Yellow/Green Belt a plus
  • Experience with online advertising technology a plus

  • Skilled leading and working with geographically distributed teams
  • Advanced problem analysis and problem-solving skills
