Technical Assistance Coord

Minimum Requirements

Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university in Early Care and Education, Early Childhood Education, Family and Consumer Sciences, Social Work or a related field

Must meet education and experience requirements to become a Georgia State Approved Trainer (for beginner, intermediate, and advance level training) and possess ability to research and develop training materials for state approval

Strong knowledge of Environment Rating Scales

Knowledge of early childhood best practices/child development

Exceptional verbal/written communication, interpersonal, public speaking and group moderation and organizational skills

Ability to professionally communication with customers to adequately explain standards, indicators and suggestions for quality improvement

Ability to work in a team environment with a diverse group of people and in a variety of settings

Ability to forge a respectful partnership with customers

Proficient in MS Office Suite and other computer software/databases

Ability to frequently lift and/or move up to thirty pounds

Strong planning skills and ability to research and design effective adult education courses

Flexible with schedule including evenings and weekends, as well as extensive travel

Maintain confidentiality

Preferred

Master’s degree in ECE or related field from an accredited college or university and two years’ experience in child care setting/early childhood field
Familiarity with the State of Georgia licensing regulations governing child care facilities and ERS tool

Responsibilities

The Technical Assistance (TA) Coordinator in this position partners with childcare providers of various capacities to provide training and intensive TA in order to assist with efforts of quality improvement through assessment, observation, feedback and implementation of quality standards. The efforts of most programs are in to achieve a Quality Rating. This position also completes other functions as necessary for the successful operation of the department.

The duties include, but are not limited to:

Provides intensive technical assistant to assigned providers/programs to assist them in improving the quality of their programs, works closely with providers/programs to complete formal and information assessments, develop and implement plans of improvement, provide direct support to classroom staff and administration based on current Quality Rated and ERS Standards, and maintain necessary documentation;

Provides professional development training within assigned service delivery areas, sessions will be state approved and comply with national best practices, participate in Train-the-Trainer sessions and periodically write state approved trainings based on identified needs in the field;

Completes all reports and site visit documentation forms in compliance with state and program guidelines and national best practices; and performs other duties as assigned.

Shift/Salary

Shift: Days/M-F (Schedule includes evenings and weekends and extensive travel)

Pay Grade: 13

Salary: $16.19/hr – $19.44/hr

Salary to be commensurate with qualifications of selected candidate within the established range (generally minimum-midpoint) of the position
