Technical Application Support Engineer

Job Brief
TAS team member. Internal technical support for multiple applications across CSC’s lines of business.

As an Application Support Engineer, you will be responsible for the support of our applications. CSC’s Applications are all highly custom, utilizing many different technologies.

What technical skills, experience and qualifications do you need?:

Experience with Java, Groovy, Spring
Experience with browser based application development – HTML Javascript, CSS jQuery, AJAX or other popular client-side framework
Experience with cross cutting concerns like security and transactions
Experience with RDBMS – Firm grasp of SQL including SSRS – Oracle, MySQL, SQLServer
Experience with production support and customer contact
Understanding of Workflow Automation Tool (Experience – BonitaSoft a plus)
Experience with Unix and/or Linux platforms (for support and deployment purposes)
Experience with Monitoring Tools (BSM, Solar Winds, Splunk)
Understanding of REST and Resource Oriented Approaches
Understanding of Architecture and Layering
Understanding of Development Lifecycles, processes and concerns
Understanding of Analytical troubleshooting skills
Understanding of QA processes and concerns
Understanding of OAM, Active Directory and Windows OS Knowledge
Development Operations, Process Improvement and Test-Driven Development focused
0 – 4 years of design, development and support of scalable web-based Java and .net applications
Experience with the design, development, testing and deployment of enterprise class web-based applications
Desire to work in a global software development and support team
Strong desire to achieve team success and an ability to mentor colleagues globally in quality software engineering practices
