Technical Analyst – IT Security (FT)

Serves as the primary staff member to research, test and coordinate security patch deployment, configuration changes, and other enhancements to information systems to maintain a current, highly available and secure computing environment.
Researches security trends, threats and mitigation strategies and provides reports and recommendations to the Information Security Officer and MIS Department managers.
Configures and manages the Security Information and Event Management (SIEM) system to provide an effective alerting, logging and response solution.
Works closely with other MIS Department staff members to ensure appropriate and effective security measures are considered when implementing, updating or removing information systems.
Generates and maintains appropriate documentation.
Provides on-call services as required.
Provides training to other staff as required.

  • Implements all systems in accordance to the organization’s information security policies and procedures.
  • Works with the ISO and MIS Managers to develop appropriate policies and procedures.
  • Develops appropriate training to the workforce.
  • Monitors internal control systems to ensure that appropriate information access levels and security clearances are maintained.
  • Serves as an internal information security consultant to the organization.
  • Monitors advancements in information technologies.
  • Maintains strictest confidentiality.
  • Attends in-service and other meetings as required.
  • Performs related work as required.

Education

  • Bachelors degree in computer science or related curriculum or equivalent work experience.

Days: Monday – Friday with occasional evenings or weekends.

Hours: 8:00 AM – 5:00 PM

Qualifications

Experience

Required

Previous project management and change management experience

4 years: Four years experience in an information technology fiedl, 2 of which should be in information security.

Preferred

Health Information Management Systems experience preferred

Some working knowledge of Windows, Linux, scripting, or digital forensics.

Experience with HIPAA, PCI or SOC 1

IT support in a health care environment.

Information security background.
