Tech Infrastructure Analyst

Responsible for leading and planning infrastructure initiatives consisting of one or more support teams. Ensures the completion of the infrastructure related implementations within budgetary and scheduling guidelines. Assists in the delivery of infrastructure architectural solutions and project requirements into specific system or process designs for leading edge solutions.

Fundamental Components:
Coordinates technical integration of all infrastructure support areas to ensure required IT resources are appropriately allocated to meet business objectives. Develop and implement technology strategies that influence business area with senior management review. Assists technology assessment and accommodations for complex business problems, coordinates team to leverage current and new technology to provide strategic solutions to the business. Anticipates, analyzes, and reacts to the potential impact changes to technology and/or products may have on the business and the computing environment. Align technology currency with business objectives. Apply industry wide understanding of technology, tools and methodologies to assist in developing solutions on projects of strategic significance. Evaluate and identify issues and constraints pertaining to technology approach; coordinate evaluation of solutions to insure adherence to Aetna technology standards (such as security, database, etc.)

Develops detail work plans, schedules, project estimates, resource plans and status reports. Coordinates infrastructure resources as needed to achieve the objectives of several concurrent projects.

Commit appropriate resources and achieving customer satisfaction, cost, expense and other critical business metrics. Coordinates IT team resources to ensure successful delivery of strategic initiatives. Responsibility in meeting budgetary implementation costs and aligning goals of unit with operating plan. Ability to negotiate issues, reach consensus and work through people to achieve key goals. Coordinates IT resources and processes to ensure the integrity and availability of data and applications in an industry leading mulit data center environment.

Apply technology strategy, direction, management and support of Business Systems delivery. Participate and integrate with the enterprise system architecture group in support of Business systems delivery. Collaborates with infrastructure SME’s to research and provide infrastructure architecture strategies. Gathers plans and schedules for the development, introduction, communication and maintenance of the enterprise system architecture, including the applications, data and infrastructure than integrates with the business area architectures.

BACKGROUND/EXPERIENCE Desired:

  • Financial experience a plus.
  • Familiarity with MIDRANGE and MAINFRAME technologies, such as: .Net, AIX, SQL, MySQL, Business Objects, Data Warehouse, UDB, JAVA, VB, Portal, Web, Linux, WebSphere, Windows, MQ, EDI Gateway, Oracle, DataPower, Siteminder, IIB, BPM, IHS, IIS, Network Storage (DASD), Cobol, CICS, DB2, Stored Procedures, Web Services, IDMS, Mobius, DataStage, Crystal Reporting, Hadoop, Cloud Computing.
  • Familiarity with Audit controls (SOX, SOC1).
  • Understands mission and critical objectives of the audit and SOX functions and associated business risks.
  • Technical Writing – Understands procedures and related business impacts and clearly and logically expresses such understanding in both written and verbal form.
  • Project Management experience.
  • Experience within a highly technical large data processing environment including mainframe, midrange, network and distributed services.
  • Strong leadership experience, ability to work independently and adapt to changing priorities, effective management of resources and strong communication skills.
  • Leadership experience, collaboration skills with the ability to work effectively with all levels of management and staff.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Enterprise, application and information architecture design experience preferred.
  • Familiarity with infrastructure operations.
  • Strong analytical skills used to identify and resolve problems.

EDUCATION

The minimum level of education desired for candidates in this position is a Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience.
