System/Server Administrator – Must have Linux Experience

POSITION SUMMARY: The server administrator is to support and manage the infrastructure within Shared, Dedicated, Cloud and Enterprise Custom solutions. They will be directly involved with maintaining server uptime, system maintenance, troubleshooting active or potential issues, and work with our clients to meet their business goals.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS AND RESPONSIBILITIES: (other duties may be assigned as needed)

• Outreach to internal and External customers consistently to ensure system performance and security are meeting expectations.
• Provide custom support to our Enterprise level customer base by investigating and resolving any detected or reported issues.
• Monitor services across Internal Newtek infrastructure.
• Identify, research, resolve issues, and work on improving our current infrastructure and our based on proactive monitoring and reporting.
• Work on completion of projects and tasks that are assigned to you.
• Be self-directed, but understand that you are part of a team.
• Task, Project, and Client management
• Provide written communications to document solutions and/or engage with others to determine the solution.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES:

• Previous experience in ITIL methodology.
• Solid understanding of Problem and Incident management.
• Experience writing documents in a technical environment i.e. SLA, RCA, Internal Policies, etc.
• Experience with Amazon and Azure provisioning and management.
• Linux and Windows Server Administration experience.
• Database Server Administration (SQL, MySQL).
• Storage Administration (Compellent, NetApp, EMC, HP, Software Defined Storage)
• Web Server Administration (IIS, Apache, NGNX, TOMCAT)
• Scripting and programming (C#, Python, PowerShell)
• Understanding of Web Programing languages (.NET, PHP, ColdFusion, HTML)
• Understanding of basic Networking (DNS, Bind, TCP/IP, Windows FireWall, iptables)
• Virtualization (OpenStack, Hyper-V, KVM, VMware)
• Experience with Hyper-Converged Infrastructure such as SimpliVity or Nutanix is a plus!
