Systems Software Programmer

We are seeking a Systems Software Programmer for approximately 40-50 hours a week long term contract.

Roles:

• Install, maintain, and support third party system software.

• Implement, manage, and support performance monitoring and capacity planning

• tools.

• Conduct performance reviews and provide status reports as requested.

• Provide capacity planning analytical reports and projections as requested.

• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

• Demonstrated effective writing and documentation skills.

• Knowledge of project management principles.

• Ability to analyze requirements, evaluate technical options, and assess feasibility.

• Ability to communicate effectively with technical and non-technical customers and staff.

• Knowledge and skill in hardware and software problem detection, isolation, and resolution.

• Proficiency with the knowledge and use of IBM TSO.

• Proficiency with the knowledge and experience of a complex IBM (OS/390, z/OS) multi-LPAR Parallel Sysplex environment.

• Proficiency with the knowledge and use of IBM JCL.

• Proficiency with the knowledge and use of monitors and trace facilities. Required / Desired Skills

• Expert experience with installation, maintenance, and use of SAS OS base software from the SAS Institute, INC. (Required 5 Years)
  

• Expert experience with installation, maintenance, and use of MXG software from Merril. (Required 5 Years)
  

• Expert experience with installation, maintenance, and support of Code1 software. (Required 5 Years)
  

• Knowledge of z/OS operating system software. (Required 5 Years)
  

• Knowledge of IMS system software. (Required 5 Years)
  

• Knowledge of DB2 system software. (Required 5 Years)
  

• Experience with Microsoft Word. (Required 5 Years)
  

• Experience with Microsoft Excel. (Required 5 Years)
  

• Experience using Microsoft SQL Server. (Required 5 Years)
  

• Experience writing, maintaining, and supporting Microsoft Visual Basic applications. (Required 5 Years)
