Systems Engineer 3, IT – Client Server Technology, FT, 8:30A – 5:00P

The Systems Engineer 3 should be skilled in the disciplines of technology solutions analysis, planning, definition and business-technology strategy alignment and transformation. One of the key goals of this function is to lead and work with clients, Business Technology Consultants (BTC), and vendor partners in its pursuit of solution architecting, provisioning, and support, by leveraging industry models and frameworks formulating actionable strategies that intersect business and technology and accelerating implementation through established operations and processes. The Systems Engineer 3 must possess demonstrated experience using technology to set and enable business goals business case development, planning execution, determining technical feasibility, cost of strategic options, and strategic possibilities enabled by existing and new technologies. The Engineer 3 will also provide support and mentoring for the lower tier Systems Engineers and will assist in the creation of and adherence to BHSF IT methodologies and standards, i.e. project methodology, technology standards, systems and web architecture, etc. Rotational on call, 24X7 duties will be required.

Qualifications

BS/BA in Information Technology field and a minimum of 3 years experience or equivalent combination of relevant IT experience. Advanced installation, administration and maintenance knowledge of UNIX and/or Windows Server operating system ; networking and LAN/WAN concepts; programming and scripting; software packaging; database systems; web technologies; communication protocols; security standards; and technical project management. Knowledge of health care environment is desirable. Advanced system design skills, verbal/written communication skills, documentation and inventory skills, organizational skills, solid analytical skills, decision-making skills, and team player attitude required. Occasional travel required. Must have transportation to be able to travel to all Baptist Health facilities. Rotational on call responsibilities will be required.

Advanced knowledge of Redhat LINUX (RHEL) version 6 and 7, VMware Version 6, Windows 2008 and 2012, TurboNomics (VMTurbo) and VMware Operations Manager and strong PowerShell and PowerCLI Scripting Skills.
