Systems Engineer

The Systems Engineer (SE) will work with Engineering Project Manager (EPM) to lead multiple projects with the JMATS team. The SE will be responsible for ensuring that all project milestones are coordinated and completed in a timely fashion. The SE will meet weekly with team members, customers, and subcontractors to ensure that projects stay on task. The candidate will be required to be the technical Subject Matter Expert (SME) on assigned projects. In addition, the SE will be required to provide project status to the EPM on a weekly basis. The selected candidate will be involved with the Systems Engineering Lifecycle of projects which includes tasks such as (but not limited to), proposal input, requirements management, design reviews, integration &test, and risk management. The SE will be assist in ensuring that all project deliverables are delivered on time.

Systems Engineering tasks include:

  • Ensures all requirements are traced to verification methods
  • Participate in Program/Project Design Reviews
  • Participate in Program Management Reviews
  • Prepares weekly status charts
  • Works with EPM to ensure all project deliverables are delivered on time.
  • Leverages proven processes, lessons learned, and best practices from other parts of the business or industry.
  • Lead Contractor testing events and participate in customer testing events. ( up to 50% travel)
  • Provide guidance in managing aircraft equipment for training devices.
  • Participate in Physical Configuration Audits
  • Work with program planners to update the IMS with updates to integration and test activities.
  • Peer review program document deliverables
  • Ensures establishment and tracking of open issues (snags)
  • Serve as the technical lead for proposals
  • Manage project risks
  • Retrieve and analyze engineering documents and drawings


Basic Qualifications

Required minimums:

  • 2+ Years Engineering or equivalent experience
  • Strong Organizational skills
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Ability to work with customers and subcontractors in a professional manner
  • Analytical skills
  • Strong relationship skills
  • Microsoft Excel experience
  • Microsoft PowerPoint Briefing experience


Desired skills

  • 2+ years of experience working with simulators
  • 2+ years of systems engineering experience
