Systems Engineer

The Systems engineer provides supervision and task management to the Spacecraft Engineering group, and their responsibilities include:

Spacecraft performance monitoring and assessment; overall spacecraft health and safety

Lead spacecraft anomaly investigations and resolution

Support efforts to resolved ground system anomalies or issues

Represent mission/spacecraft subject matter area for Flight Operations Team

Interface with the USGS FSM, contractor Operations Management, AETD engineers, and flight segment vendors

Support MOC/Operations Configuration Management

Provide systems engineering support to the development of the Landsat Mission Operations Center, including support systems engineering and integration requirements definition, verification, configuration management, change management systems, and will oversee risk management and data management, as well as other system engineering duties

Required Skills

Organized, productive problem solver

Able to work independently with little oversight, and function effectively as team engineering lead

Able to work in teams in a dynamic environment

Possesses excellent oral and written communication skills for presentation and reporting

Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Computer Science, Math, or related field

Minimum 10 years of experience in systems engineering

US Citizenship

Eligibility for a secret clearance
