Systems Architect for Corporate Technology Data Architecture (Sys Arch 6)

Corporate Technology (CT) provides development and support for the many internal systems used across the enterprise. The CT Architecture & Strategy Group provides architecture services to the breadth of CT. We work to influence the technology direction and standards of Wells Fargo technology and ensure CT solutions are in alignment the overall goals and objectives of EIT and our partners.

The Senior Architects for Corporate Technology Data Architecture are key positions within the Corporate Technology Architecture (CTA) Group reporting into the Corporate Technology Group Systems Architect. These positions are responsible for setting key strategic architecture direction for data within the Corporate Technology portfolio. These positions will be responsible for creating and implementing a data solution architecture working closely with the Enterprise Data Blueprint team, LOB partners, CTOs and Application managers.

Responsibilities will include:

  • Working with the LOB business leaders, application managers, and Enterprise Data Analytics, Information Security, Infrastructure Architects, and project teams to create and manage a Corporate Technology Data Architecture.
  • Engage in cross CT Architecture alignment activities and on the need basis assist in enterprise initiatives.
  • Assess impact of the Enterprise Data Blueprint initiative on the Corporate Technology portfolio.
  • Responsible for designing data solutions in accordance with Data Management policies and the Enterprise Data Blueprint initiative. Influence the application owners to ensure alignment with the data architecture.
  • Design and implement architecture standards processes for data and data governance in Corporate Technology.
  • Acts in a strategic role in the development and maintenance of data architectures for that are in compliance with the Enterprise Architecture.
  • Serves as the highest-level technical consultant to internal clients and technical management to ensure conformity with Enterprise Data Architecture, having expertise across a broad portion of the organizational unit’s architecture, or in-depth expertise within a more specific portion of the architecture.

The preferred work location is Charlotte, NC, but other locations such as Chandler, AZ and Minneapolis, MN will also be considered. Preference will be given to those candidates that either currently live in or are willing to relocate to Charlotte, NC with limited to no relocation assistance.

Required Qualifications

  • 10+ years of information technology systems design and planning experience; in systems, applications, or architecture
  • 10 + years of experience designing software solutions using software architecture design principles
  • 5+ years of data modeling experience
  • 5 + years of Data Management Platform (DMP) experience

  • Extensive technical skills and comprehensive knowledge and understanding of an entire line of business or infrastructure sub-domain
  • Excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills
  • Ability to interact with all levels of an organization
  • Ability to influence across all organizational levels, particularly senior management
  • Knowledge and understanding of DB2
  • Knowledge and understanding of MS SQL server
  • Knowledge and understanding of Oracle
  • Knowledge and understanding of data governance challenges and approaches: metadata, data quality, and data stewardship
  • Knowledge and understanding of SQL
  • Knowledge and understanding of Big Data
  • Knowledge and understanding of XML (Extensible Markup Language)
  • Knowledge and understanding of technology governance
  • Ability to influence and build relationships with LOB stakeholders, technology CIO leadership, external service providers, and architecture teams
  • A BS/BA degree or higher in information technology
  • 5+ years of SOA (Services Oriented Architecture) experience
