Systems Application Analyst (Open until filled)

The QA analyst is the primary owner of the functional quality assurance stage of software development and deployment. The position is responsible for ensuring all application and/or system releases meet defined functionality and performance standards through appropriate automated and manual tests. Responsibilities include: develop test plan, create test cases and test scripts, manage execution of the test plan, perform defect coordination functions, ensuring that test defects are tracked to closure and that the defect repository is kept up-to-date with the current status, coordinate functional testing with users/SMEs, documentation of test results to assist in debugging and required modifications to the application, analyze test results and recommend appropriate corrective actions, prepare and complete release notes/documentation.

Essential Functions

65% – Prepares and coordinates the execution of functional/regression test plan associated with new systems, system enhancements, software releases, application maintenance, etc, develop comprehensive test cases and appropriate test scripts

15% – Captures, documents, tracks, and maintains up-to-date status of bugs/defects from initial identification to closure

10% – Communicates with technical teams and business liaisons for bug/defect status and release readiness

5% – Participates in team functions and process improvement initiatives

5% – Other duties as assigned

Minimum Qualifications

1. Bachelor’s degree from accredited institution

2. Two (2) or more years as tester or in performing application/system/black box/functional testing

3. Two (2) or more years in writing test cases

4. Two (2) or more years in test plan creation

5. Experience with test automation tools such as Selenium or Tosca

OR,

Any equivalent combination of education, training, or experience which provides the required knowledge and skills to perform the essential functions of the position may be considered

Desired Qualifications

1. Two (2) or more years of experience as primary tester or lead QA

2. Certification in quality assurance

3. Experience performing QA testing in higher education or an IT organization

4. Familiarity with test management tools such as JIRA or HP Quality Center

5. Experience in developing QA procedure guide or standards

6. Experience in performing QA in an agile environment
