Systems Analyst – QAD

PURPOSE OF POSITION:

Maintain, support, develop and implement the application systems deployed throughout the enterprise in accordance with company priorities.

JOB/TASK FUNCTIONS:

The following job/task functions have been identified as the core functions of this position. However, the supervisor or manager may assign additional duties associated with this position.

• Confers with personnel of organizational units involved to analyze current operational procedures, identify problems, and learn specific input and output requirements such as forms of data input, how data is to be summarized, and formats for reports
• Writes description of user needs, program functions, and steps required to develop or modify computer program
• Reviews computer system capabilities, workflow, and scheduling limitations to determine if requested program or program change is possible within existing system
• Studies existing information processing systems to evaluate effectiveness and develops new systems to improve production or workflow as required
• Conducts studies pertaining to development of new information systems to meet current and projected needs
• Plans and prepares technical reports and instructional manuals as documentation of program development
• Upgrades system and corrects errors to maintain system after implementation
• Prepares time and cost estimates for completing projects
• Provide direct user support (Level 1) for all aspects of the environment.
• Provide Level 2 support for specialty areas such as EDI, QMS, ERP, etc
• Provide Level 3 development of new functionality with direction.

Application Support and Administration

• Install, maintain, and troubleshoot company software applications
• Identify and implement systems in accordance with company standards
• Provide training as necessary

Job Requirements

• Experience with UNIX, LINUX and WINDOWS operating systems.
• Experience with MS SQL database administration
• Conceptual understanding of ERP applications
• Effective verbal and written communication skills
• Working knowledge of automotive EDI preferred
• Working knowledge of QAD preferred
• Minimum 3 years of direct experience in application development and programming
• Effective organizational skills
• Ability to work independently or as a team member
• Ability to manage multiple tasks and deadlines
• Ability to effectively assign appropriate priorities to tasks
• Ability to learn and understand business processes and enterprise applications that are used to support them.
