Systems Analyst, Information Technology

Position Summary

The Systems Analyst in IT Corporate Functions will support IT systems for Legal, Corporate Real Estate, Human Resources, Corporate Communications and other cross departmental platforms. The Systems Analyst will ensure all technical and security requirements are adhered to while providing IT services and support to the business to improve competitive cost structure, exceed our competitors’ revenue performance, and build a foundation for the future.


Key Responsibilities

  • Based upon the analysis and design results, provide input to the Business Analyst and/or Project Manager for the creation of the Business Requirements Specifications and, when needed, write the Technical Design Specifications
  • Learn assigned business unit’s requirements and collaborate to plan future initiatives
  • Ensure delivered applications meets Hawaiian Airlines’ standards for security, platform and performance
  • Ensure assigned resources on development projects meet business requirements and goals, fulfill end-user requirements and identify and resolve systems issues
  • Ensure configuration management policies are followed consistently
  • Lead teams in the development of best practices
  • Facilitate the investigation of production outages or problems and the subsequent restoration of service, determine root cause and ensure remediation
  • Lead technical teams through the various phases of the software development life cycle process and ensure finished product is completed and delivered within scope and budget
  • Lead development and maintenance activities for assigned set of back-office applications
  • Lead key technology design decisions; ensure all points of integration are incorporated
  • Manage third-party vendor-hosted solutions
  • Supervise outsourced vendor resources and validate deliverables
  • Collaborate with assigned team and business units to execute application roadmap and plan for resourcing and budget
  • Collaborate with all IT support groups to firm up application technical requirements, ensure they are accurate, oversee testing of the delivered product per schedule and budget
  • Collaborate with teams to ensure compliance with all SOX and PCI in-scope applications

Minimum Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree, or equivalent combination of experience and education
  • 3 years direct experience in software development and/or programming design and systems management
  • 2 years in development of technical design documents
  • 2 years vendor management experience
  • 2 years working with onshore and offshore development teams
  • Experience with managing teams to work towards development best practices
  • Strong, proven people management skills

Preferred Qualifications

  • 4 years airline industry experience and knowledge
  • Microsoft Certified Technology Specialist (MCTS) or Microsoft Certified IT Professional (MCITP) certification
  • Working knowledge of SOX and PCI compliance
  • Working knowledge of project management principles and methodology
  • General knowledge of network hardware/protocols, desktop hardware/operating systems and security considerations
  • 3 years working knowledge of Oracle 11g/12c, SQL Server, Visual Studio, .Net
