6 Months Contract to Hire – $40/hr – $45/hr

Our client, one of the nation’s leaders in transportation service is seeking a Systems Administrator who will be responsible for setup, install, and support proprietary technology developed by including revenue control systems and other operational technologies. Manage hardware and PC environments, participate in testing efforts of proprietary systems, and manage infrastructure related to development efforts.

• This position is based at corporate headquarters in Chicago, Illinois.
• Travel – 50-60% travel is required

SYSTEMS ADMINISTRATOR KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Setup new hardware and assist with QA efforts to thoroughly test all aspects of systems
• Become an expert at all hardware involved and develop understanding of how all components work together for systems
• Manage hardware vendor relationships to coordinate installation and procurement of hardware components
• Commission credit card processing hardware components
• Assist with the design and become an expert of system environment that includes Active Directory domain setup, user rights and roles, network segregation/security, and information flow between systems
• Manage PC configurations, remote management, policy assignment and security updates
• Train field personnel on use of systems and participate in documentation efforts
• Lead the effort to roll out proprietary technology to field locations.
• Manage installations of revenue control systems to ensure operations are not disrupted during the installation.
• Ensure systems are functioning properly and resolve all issues in a timely manner
• Ensure data integrity of revenue control systems as it relates to uptime, system issues and operational issues
• Act as support contact for all locations; Be a part of the on-call 24/7 support team

SYSTEMS ADMINISTRATOR KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & EXPERIENCE REQUIRED:

• Willingness to learn revenue control hardware and software
• Experience with SCCM
• Experience with POS systems, payment processing, and hardware component interaction
• Experience with PowerShell scripting a plus
• Experience with local and wide area IP networks
• Experience installing and managing Microsoft Windows 7, Windows 8, and Microsoft Windows Server 2008 and 2012; Experience setting up and maintaining Active Directory
• Experience with Hyper-V Virtualization; creation and management of VM’s
• Experience with SQL Server databases; Writing and executing basic T-SQL queries
• Familiarity with PCI-DSS
• Willingness to travel
• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or Information Systems
• Certifications are not required, but Network+, A+, MCP, MCSE, MCSA a plus
