System Operator

Intralot is engaged in the supply of integrated gaming and transaction processing systems, innovative game content and value added services to state licensed gaming organizations. Duties and Responsibilities

Under the direct supervision and control of the Illinois Project Manager and General Manager, the role performs the listed duties and responsibilities below. Other miscellaneous duties may be assigned.

Analyze and manage customer needs on multiple, high-availability systems.

Active involvement in service transitions between environments and system operations therein.

Prepare application management plans in staging environments for internal testing and customer testing.

Coordinate application maintenance procedures for Operations to perform during maintenance sessions.

Collaborate with subcontractors, customers, business analysts and other stakeholders to minimize operational impact of application downtime.

Analyze industry trends and propose implementation of the latest advances application management technology.

Work closely with system engineers to develop application impact plans for maintenance sessions.

Evaluate service design documents that encompass new applications.

Inspect test plans and test strategies for new software applications throughout the testing lifecycle.

Support Quality Assurance department on an as-needed basis.

Requirements

Education, Training and Experience

A Bachelor’s degree or Master’s Degree in computer science, Information Technology or similar field of study; or equivalent combination of training and experience.

0 – 1 years experience testing within a technical development environment on complex business applications.

Application support and development experience a plus

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

Advanced knowledge of Unix/Windows system administration in duplex and quadplex environments.

Advanced experience with NIM, VMware, Virtual I/O server, IBM hardware, HACMP, and Microsoft Clustering technologies.

Experience in developing, proposing and implementing test plans and application procedures in small to medium sized groups.

Knowledge of the latest system security standards and implementation methods.

Strong analytical and troubleshooting skills.

Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

Ability to travel within the city of Chicago and other Intralot USA technology hubs if needed.

Ability to achieve objectives and adhere to standards.

Ability to plan and manage competing priorities.

Ability to provide emergency support for the Operations department.

Submission to, and ability to pass, a thorough pre-employment background check by the required State Lottery and Intralot USA is a requirement of employment. A pre-employment drug screening is also a requirement.
