POSITION SUMMARY: The System Analyst is responsible for the functional analysis, design, implementation, and maintenance of hospital software applications (clinical, financial, administrative, and ancillary computer systems). Acts as the liaison between hospital departments regarding IS issues and vendors.POSITION REQUIREMENTS: Minimum Education and/or Experience: * Bachelor’s degree from four-year college or universityOR* Three to four years related experienceLicensure/Regulation/Certification: N/APOSITION EXPECTATIONS & RESPONSIBILITIES: * Have knowledge in program management, healthcare delivery, and change management.* Demonstrate the ability to learn and adapt to new software applications as they are introduced to the department.* Possess project management skills.* Have proven success in the analytical support of healthcare software.* Expected to have report writing skills utilizing one of the following: SQL, Crystal, or Reportsmith.* Proficient with Microsoft Office and html or related applications.* Maintain a working knowledge of the configuration for the entire BRRH network.* Understand one or more of the following operating systems: SQL, Oracle, Unix, or AIX.* Responsible for the management of hospital-wide information systems.* Perform system analysis review and evaluation, and provide management with timely analysis and feasibility studies.* Review and/or define system testing procedures.* Provide consulting and troubleshooting services to all customers.* Perform information systems change management.* Participate in IS projects by providing changes or enhancements to the systems as needed, and act as a lead for primary applications.* Assume the role of project manager for assignments within the realm of their primary application responsibility by coordinating all facets of the project.* Plan for and recommend capital expenditures for the IS budget.* Assist after hours as needed and conform work hours to needs of customers, internal and external to the department.* Assist with training and documentation for information systems as needed.* Share information regarding solutions to problems with colleagues, and other staff members as appropriate.* Coordinate system changes with other sections of the department.* Ensure there is good communication between IS and user groups.* Participate in departmental committees to set standards, select software, and determine processes.* Train new staff as designated by manager.* Incumbent may be required to perform emergency duty before, during and/or beyond normal work hours or days in the event of an emergency, crisis situation or disaster (man-made or natural) including evacuation sites.* The person in this position will work in a smoke-free location, and is expected to adhere to all smoking restrictions.* In the spirit of wellness for both our employees and patients, Boca Raton Regional Hospital has instituted a mandatory influenza prevention vaccination program. Current employees must receive the influenza prevention vaccination free of charge during the recognized flu season. As a condition of employment, new hires will be required to comply with all program rules.
