Supply Chain Analyst – OEM Guitars

Fender Musical Instruments Corporation (FMIC) is seeking a Supply Chain Analyst – OEM Guitars to join our team at our Scottsdale, AZ office. In this gig, you will assist in managing multiple ongoing sourcing projects, including (but not limited to) tracking of timelines and OEM lead times to meet new product release schedules. This highly qualified individual will report directly to the Chief Product Officer.

The responsibilities for the Supply Chain Analyst – OEM Guitars includes monitoring OEM factory capacity and forecasted requirements to identify areas of opportunity or potential areas of conflicts/problem; all of this while fostering existing and building new OEM relationships; daily interface with International and Domestic suppliers, as well as working internally with Product Managers, Planning, Procurement, and R&D. You will also ship, receive, and monitor incoming and outgoing product samples from vendors and Product Management and monitor Inbound Inspection Reports to determine trends and areas of concentration for assigning OEM Inspection team.

Just like an accomplished musician needs the chops to be successful; this person will need to have the following:

  • 3–5 years of direct related experience in both domestic and global supply chain purchasing, preferably in a manufacturing environment;
  • Knowledge of product management concepts and how products are positioned and developed;
  • Team skills: to discuss with and receive instructions from individuals and groups about new product needs; ability to ask the right questions to surface essential requirements / information;
  • Analytical skills: to critically evaluate the information gathered from multiple suppliers, reconcile conflicts, decompose high-level information into details, and abstract up from low-level information to a more general understanding;
  • Facilitation skills: to lead / present sourcing and pricing data at varying levels within the organization;
  • Organizational skills: to work with the vast array of information gathered during new product development, the analysis of that information and to cope with rapidly changing information while keeping / prioritizing deadlines;
  • Prefer experience within the music industry and/or at Fender®;
  • Direct experience with SAP or similar ERP toolset;
  • In depth proficiency with Microsoft Office;
  • Effective project management skills;
  • Ability to travel up to 10% of the time, both domestically and internationally.

Education Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain, Business Administration, or related discipline, or equivalent experience;
