Collins Aerospace is looking for a purchasing supervisor to lead a team of entry-level to intermediate Procurement professionals, setting objectives and guiding others on RFPs, negotiation strategy, cost accountability, and/or program execution. Reviews prices, manufacturing processes, and contracts and makes recommendations for changes to ensure a successful procurement process of materials and services.


Primary Responsibilities:

  • Directly manage, coach, inspire team of buyers to ensure right quantity of material and/or services, at the right price, at the right time to support LG MRO
  • Prepare and process requisitions and purchase orders, some technical in nature – working closely with Engineering and Operations as required.
  • Continuously create and execute cost reduction projects to achieve and exceed financial plan commitments.
  • Innovate new cost reduction opportunities.
  • Represent the company successfully in negotiating contracts and formulating policies with suppliers.
  • Locate suppliers of materials, components, and services; and perform quantitative supplier selection for new products.
  • Lead supplier dispute resolution for payables discrepancies, warranty claims / delivered quality issues, and late delivery charges.
  • Provide continuous, immediate, and effective production line support in the event of supply disruption for any reason.
  • Lead root cause analysis and robust corrective action implementation for such occurrences.
  • Manage elements of the purchase agreement process: contract writing, terms negotiating, language refining, business unit approval(s).
  • Gathers inputs on prices of different materials and/or services from primary and secondary sources; identifies opportunities for outsourcing and cost reduction and all other related information important to developing a site supply strategy.
  • Provides market cost data to formulate the budget for the year, and for bid and proposal activity.
  • Manage supplier on time delivery, supplier performance, payment terms, payment discrepancies, and requisition conversion to purchase order.

  • Basic Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree and 3 years of relevant experience OR
  • In absence of a degree, 7 years of relevant experience is required
  • Must be a U.S. Person/Permanent Resident “Green Card” holder

  • Preferred Qualifications:

  • Purchasing/ commodity management/ product planning experience
  • Excellent verbal and written communications skills, with the ability to be persuasive and make senior management presentations
  • Experience of cost reduction project leadership within the manufacturing environment.
  • Proficient with all Microsoft Office Suite
  • SAP experience
  • Maintenance, Repair, and Overhaul (MRO) experience
