Structural Engineer (entry-level)

H.W. Lochner Inc., a leader in transportation engineering, is currently seeking an entry-level Structural Engineer for its Lexington, Kentucky office.

Responsibilities

• Design bridges and conduct structural analyses, develop calculations, plan preparation, etc.
• Responsible for working on bridge design projects and other transportation-related structural design and analysis projects.
• Evaluate, select and apply standard engineering techniques for design of steel and concrete structures.
• Conduct structural inspections of bridges and ancillary highway structures.

Qualifications

• B.S. in Civil Engineering required, M.S. in Civil Engineering with a Structural emphasis preferred
• EIT professional designation
• 2+ years of bridge design experience preferred
• Knowledge of AASHTO bridge design specifications
• Working knowledge of CADD (Microstation preferred) and typical structural design and analysis software
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
• Excellent interpersonal skills
