State Patrol Support Analyst – ITS2

As a Minnesota State Patrol (MSP) Support Analyst you will provide help desk support, software deployment, configuration, user support including consultation regarding use and features of MSP software applications, development and deployment of software modifications and enhancements, service restoration, testing, documentation, and resolution of software and hardware related issues. You will also provide support for the applications listed above to district/section computer users at twenty-two (22) separate locations. The emphasis of this position will be on supporting existing MSP applications and hardware but this position will also be responsible for assisting with deployment of other software and hardware utilized by State Patrol staff when requested.

Qualifications

Minimum Qualifications: Candidates must clearly demonstrate all of the following qualifications in their resume: Two (2) years of professional IT desktop, hardware and software systems support and troubleshooting experience. Professional level experience to include all of the following:

Support and troubleshooting Windows 7 or above; Windows Server 2008 or above

Experience with service oriented software such as Altiris

Support and troubleshooting within a LAN environment;

Ability to travel occasionally to other Minnesota IT Services @DPS work locations as needed A Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology or related substitutes for two years of experience, OR a related Associate’s substitutes for one year. **Successful candidate must pass past-employer reference checks and a criminal history verification** **It is the policy of the MN IT Services that all employees submit to a background investigation prior to employment. Information Technology, Computer Science or related degree or education.

CompTIA A+ Certification; Network+ Certification.

XML/HTML experience

Oracle DB/SQL experience

Experience supporting enterprise client/server and web-based software applications

Excellent interpersonal and communication skills with both technical and non-technical individuals

Strong analytical and decision-making skills
