Startup Program Manager

Google’s projects, like our users, span the globe and require managers to keep the big picture in focus. As a Program Manager at Google, you lead complex, multi-disciplinary projects. You plan requirements with internal customers and usher projects through the entire project lifecycle. This includes managing project schedules, identifying risks and clearly communicating goals to project stakeholders. Your projects often span offices, time zones and hemispheres, and it’s your job to keep all the players coordinated on the project’s progress and deadlines.

As a Startup Program Manager, you will support founders as they learn about, evaluate and adopt Google Cloud and leverage your expert understanding of both business and technical solutions as you help startups achieve their goals. You live and breathe all things “startup”, and you find helping startups work with Google to be uniquely satisfying. Your ability to work across teams in Google Cloud and beyond will make you an invaluable resource for startups and earn you a reputation as a startup champion within Google.

To be successful in your role, you will build and maintain relationships with players throughout the startup ecosystem, from university programs and co-working spaces to accelerators and top venture capitals. You’ll also organize, participate and speak at Google and startup industry events.

Responsibilities

Deliver and evolve an actionable story passionately and authentically about why Google Cloud is a great place to build high-growth tech startups.

Identify and prioritize key venture capitals and accelerators with portfolio companies that have infrastructure needs, and drive engagement with those venture capitals to ensure that they are successful using our platform and have the required technical and business resources.

Communicate and collaborate with cross-functional team (Sales, Product, Marketing, Legal and etc.) to give updates on progress and roadblocks.

Improve Google Cloud Platform’s go-to-market strategy. Initiate and execute to scale the business.

Manage partner relationships to monitor partnership health and identify additional opportunities.

Qualifications

Minimum qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree or equivalent practical experience.

Experience working with startups, accelerators, university programs and venture firms.

Preferred qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or related technical field or equivalent practical experience.

Strategic thinker; ability to solve complex problems, develop creative solutions and thrive in a fast-paced, entrepreneurial environment.

In-depth understanding of the startup ecosystem, technology markets and demand generation with an established professional network in the venture capital and accelerator ecosystem.

Strong hands-on knowledge of key technologies and concepts such as database systems, distributed compute environments, application development, big data analytics and the fundamentals of Cloud computing including virtualization, storage systems and content delivery networks.

Ability to understand and speak to clients’ cloud architecture needs in depth and to recommend appropriate solutions using excellent communication and presentation skills, both written and verbal.
