Staffing Services Coordinator (Program Assistant II)

This position schedules, reviews and coordinates 24-hour staff coverage within the hospital to gain efficiency, ensure proper staffing levels, monitor staff competency and work with each program to develop scheduling requirements. This position works with a hospital-wide staffing and scheduling package; supervises other schedulers and flexible staffing pool, trains staff to use the scheduling system, monitors and recommends system upgrades and monitors overtime, vacation and sick leave.

This is primarily an eight-hour day and/or p,m ,position but may vary according to needs of facility, department and supervisory responsibility.

The Ideal Candidate Will Have:
Supervisory experience and with a bachelor;s degree in business, information technology, or related field is preferred.

Knowledge of:
supervision and other personnel management processes;

state and institution policies and procedures concerning scheduling, leave time, admissions and requisitioning;

record keeping;

scheduling and 24-hour staff coverage requirements;

computer systems and applications;

timekeeping practices and procedures.

Ability to:
exercise independent judgment in evaluating situations and making decisions;

communicate information concisely and efficiently;

recognize changing staffing needs in order to provide continuity of care;

plan and project future staffing needs and changes;

deal with and prioritize emergency scheduling situations effectively;

demonstrate flexibility while working with various programs;

apply appropriate policies and procedures in a uniform manner;

gather information and prepare reports;

interpret objectives and develop practical applications.
