Staff Auditor

POSITION PURPOSE:

To prepare for and conduct audits of contributing employers to ensure that contributions have been properly remitted on behalf of all eligible plan participants. The individual also assists in the completion of Special Project assignments. The individual has less than one year experience in the Field Audit Division.

DUTIES:

• Prepares the audit files, which entails gathering all pertinent information from local unions, employers and other Fund departments.
• Assists in planning the audit, identifying problem areas and outlining the audit procedures to be performed.
• During fieldwork, conducts the audit of employers records to ensure contributions have been properly remitted.
• Acts as a Fund representative in meetings with employers and local unions.
• Post audit duties including calculating any audit findings and documenting findings, procedures and issues. Assists in resolving and processing findings. Prepares post audit correspondence.
• Investigates employers selected for audit and recommends whether an audit should be performed.
• Performs individual reviews as requested by the Pension Group or Operations Accounting.
