Essential Duties

Receive and process IACUC (Institutional Animal Care and Use Committee) proposals for approval. Work independently to compose for signature approval and distribution, electronically or through mailings IACUC approval letters to applicants. Compose IACUC agenda and prepare minutes for meetings. Advise applicants as to guidelines. This requires knowledge of the federal regulations and university policies and the ability to interpret the regulations for applicants.

Work independently to compose for signature approval and distribution, electronically or through mailings IRB approval letters to applicants. Compose monthly IRB agenda and prepare minutes for meetings. Advise applicants as to guidelines. This requires knowledge of the federal regulations and university policies and the ability to interpret the regulations for applicants.

Events coordination–arrange staff meetings, and trainings for the Research Compliance Attorney, composing correspondence as needed.

Compile and edit reports and correspondence for the Research Compliance Attorney

Maintain and update IRB (Institutional Review Board), IACUC (Institutional Animal Care and Use Committee) files, and general correspondence files. Ability to maintain both physical and electronic filing systems.

Schedule appointments for the Research Compliance Attorney. Perform front line administrative and reception support for the Vice President and Associate Vice Presidents–answer phone, route messages, assist and direct office visitors as needed. Access Internet information. Prepare outgoing mail and distribute incoming mail as needed.

Manager/moderator of the IRB and IACUC approval committee distribution list.

Coordinate meetings of the Human Subjects Institutional Review Board and the Institutional Animal Care and Use Committee.

Minimum Qualifications

Bachelor’s Level Degree and two years of comparable office experience, or an equivalent combination of education and work experience.

Excellent interpersonal, verbal and written communication skills.
