Staff Accountant – Non-Profit Outsourcing

We’re hiring a Staff Accountant in our Not for Profit outsourcing practice in our Minneapolis, MN office. As a member of CLA’s Shared Service Center team, you will work in a collaborative team environment providing customized accounting services to a variety of clients so they can focus on managing their organizations and making a difference. In this role, you will manage a variety of accounting functions for non-profit clients including processing transactions, completing non-complex account reconciliations, and creating financial statements to support our clients’ accounting functions.

Job Responsibilities:

• Ability to identify client issues concerning generally accepted accounting principles (FASB / SFAS), specifically related to particular industry.
• Complete non-complex account reconciliations, such as bank reconciliations, accounts receivable, accounts payable, and other balance sheet accounts.
• Prepare non-complex financial statements and required work papers to support the financial statements.
• Process transactions which may include: accounts payable/cash disbursements processing, accounts receivable/cash receipts processing and payroll processing/coordination.
• Gains a thorough understanding of the financial operations of industry specific engagements/clients (i.e. non profit, healthcare, manufacturing, etc)

Education/Experience

• BA/BS degree in accounting or related field required.
• Specific experience within a not for profit environment preferred
• Proficiency and aptitude for applicable software (Microsoft Excel, Word, Outlook, etc)
• Develop and maintain a thorough working knowledge of accounting software packages
• QuickBooks experience is required
