Staff Accountant

Staff Accountant Public Accounting

RPC CPAs + Consultants, LLP is seeking qualified applicants for Staff Auditor positions based in their Albuquerque office. This position requires strong fundamental accounting and financial reporting skills as well as demonstrated leadership and client management abilities.

Essential Duties:

  • Demonstrate strong written, oral communication, and listening skills
  • Demonstrated knowledge and foundation in basic audit areas.
  • Implement the planning process and planning documents including risk assessments
  • Display a thorough understanding of audit standards and the audit process.
  • Possess the ability to understand, explain and review checklists relevant to attestation level engagements
  • Perform complex research, and reach logical, well-supported technical conclusions
  • Demonstrate high-level analytical and problem solving skills
  • Demonstrate a working understanding of the Primary level of technical standards (GAAP, AU-C, GAAS, etc.)
  • Demonstrate ability to review low risk and compliance audit areas and begin to review other substantive audit areas in accordance with Quality Control standards

Knowledge/Skills:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, CPA or CPA eligible required
  • One years accounting and experience required
  • Knowledge of accounting and auditing standards
  • Extensive knowledge of MS Office suite and Pfx Engagement software preferred
  • Must have excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, with the ability to effectively interface with clients and internal personnel
  • Must be able to multi-task and work in a fast paced environment
  • Must be a team player with a high sense of urgency and strong problem solving skills
  • Must be able to work autonomously
  • Must be deadline driven with proven ability to set priorities
