Staff Accountant

This is a unique opportunity for someone who is looking to contribute in a fast-paced, rapidly-growing organization. This position will work closely with the Accounting, FP&A and Procurement teams.


WHAT YOU’LL BE DOING:

  • Performing monthly general ledger account analysis and reconciliations
  • Assisting manager and others within the accounting team in making necessary accruals at the time of month-end close
  • Processing amortization of prepaid expenses, fixed assets depreciation and recording of other journal entries including reclassifications, as necessary
  • Reviewing and approving sales tax return output from Avalara and prepare the State of MN sales and use tax return outside of Avalara; interacting with international accounting firms on VAT and GST returns and prepare annual personal property tax returns
  • Assisting on special projects, with varying levels of involvement and responsibilities
  • Assisting in working with and preparing schedules for the external auditors
  • Flexibility as duties will evolve over time as overall team responsibilities are re-adjusted between team members


SKILLS AND BASIC REQUIREMENTS:

  • Minimum of three years of related work experience
  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting
  • Working knowledge of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP)
  • Strong organization skills to effectively manage multiple projects and processes while meeting deadlines
  • Assertive, self-motivated, team-oriented individual with excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Intermediate to advanced computer skills, including experience with Microsoft Excel, Word, Outlook, PowerPoint


PREFERRED:

  • Certified Public Accountant
  • Combination of experience in public accounting and industry
  • Experience in a high growth or technology environment
  • Experience with SaaS ERPs such as Intacct or NetSuite
