Sr. Web Service Developer

Career Evolutions is looking for a Sr. Web Services Developer for a technology company in Phoenix. Full time, direct hire role with compensation of up to $120k.

Job Summary:

You will be responsible for architecting an ambitious and exciting mobile to web enabled kiosk platform for communication. Initial tasks will include architecture, technology selection, and basic implementation of the web service framework, iterating the architecture and driving the architecture to deployment.

Job Responsibilities:

• Involvement in the entire life cycle of the applications (ie from conceptualization, coding, implementation, upgrades, etc)
• Design and develop mobile to web kiosks to be used internally and externally
• Select technologies to be used for efficient development of applications according to client needs and specification
• Author out web service API guidelines that will be used across all development teams
• Develop applications with AWS as the main web service and/or develop in-house web service around AWS
• Author plans to integrate database, performance/scaling, QA strategy and deployment

Job Qualifications:

• B.S., M.S., or Ph.D. in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, or related field
• At least 7 years’ experience with WebService development
• Experience in developing AWS Services and Products is a must
• Experience with large-scale data caching and persistence solutions
• Experience scaling and iterating web services according to changing demands
• Experience architecting a modular web service deployed in a multi-server environment
• Experience developing and architecting applications using PHP, Perl, Python, Ruby, Java (JEE) and other open source languages
• Experience with multiple full application frameworks AWS Code, Ruby on Rails, Django, node.js
• Very comfortable in a Linux environment
• Excellent communication skills
• Ability to learn and adapt in a rapidly changing environment
• Experience with general purpose input/output (GPIO)
• Experience with small board computing, computer on modules (Raspberry Pi Compute)
