The PitchBook team is looking for a Senior UX Designer to join our Product team and bring our platform to the next level.

What we’re looking for

We are looking for a Senior UX Designer to join our growing design team and contribute to the evolution of the PitchBook Platform. Our UX team has a lot of ownership over the design direction of the platform. We are looking for a senior designer who is adept at working with complex data and workflows, utilizes varying user research methods to foster fact based decision making and is able to facilitate team discussions to drive projects forward. Our UX Designers have an immediate impact on the product, whether through enhancing the functionality of existing features or designing entirely new features. While industry knowledge is not required, we are looking for someone with the desire and aptitude to learn about the industry and our user base. Responsibilities

Create high standard design solutions that address and fulfill business, brand and user requirements

Communicate design ideas through low-fidelity sketches, prototypes and mockups to pixel-perfect comps

Work closely with Product Managers to create functional specifications for development

Develop new features and work to improve the functionality, usability and discoverability of current features in the product

Identify user needs and product designs centered on our users’ behaviors and motivations.

Facilitate team meetings, workshops and leadership reviews

Lead design planning

Conduct various types of qualitative and quantitative User Research

Qualifications

At least five (5) years of experience as a UX Designer or similar role

Employ knowledge of modern web and mobile best practices to create world-class web and mobile experiences

Passion for usability and user experience

Understand how visual and interaction design work together to create great user experiences.

Strong knowledge of fundamentals of typography, composition and color

Ability to balance multiple projects, organize priorities and communicate across departments

Strong analytical skills; use qualitative and quantitative data to make appropriate product decisions

Meticulous attention to detail

Ability to clearly communicate and support design decisions and how they add value to the product

Strong user experience and visual design portfolio

Easygoing, driven, and passionate

Expert skills with Sketch, InVision, Axure, Adobe CC

Preferred Qualifications

Understand how the web works; knowledge of HTML, CSS, Javascript are a big plus!

Informatics, Interaction Design or related HCI education or experience

Knowledge or passion for learning the financial industry

Prior experience with data visualization
