Sr. Systems Engineer

BASIC FUNCTION

Part of a cross functional Infrastructure team responsible for Linux Servers, Windows Servers, Active Directory, Exchange, Sharepoint, VMWare, Web Servers, App Servers, SAN Storage, F5 load balancers, network equipment, cloud computing, scripting, IPSIDS and firewalls. Essential Job Functions*

This position provides engineering and administration of enterprise storage, server, and virtualization infrastructures. Candidate must possess strong familiarity with EMC Storage platforms, including Unified VNX and Recoverpoint.

Daily responsibilities include configuration, automation, performance tuning, security hardening, backups, patch and upgrade management of EMC storage products, Microsoft products, RedHat Linux, virtualization, and networking devices.

OTHER DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Other responsibilities include configuration, automation, scripting, performance tuning, security hardening, backups, patch and upgrade management of webservers, appservers, firewalls, IPSIDS devices, network infrastructure, scripting, configuration review and analysis, and enterprise backups.

QUALIFICATIONS

• Thorough understanding of the application and infrastructure listed above.
• Minimum of 5 years experience working in a corporate enterprise environment with direct responsibility for an EMC storage environment.
• Strong analytical/troubleshooting and organizational skills
• Ability to work independently to research and complete complex tasks and projects
• Strong experience with two of the following, in addition to EMC Storage, is desirable

o F5 load balancers

o RedHat Linux including apache

o VMware

o WindowsAD

o Cisco Networking, including OSPF and BGP routing

o Cisco ASA Firewalls

o Checkpoint Firewalls

o Netbackup

• Four Year degree required (preferably BS in Computer Science or Engineering) or equivalent relevant work experience.

WORKING CONDITIONS & PHYSICAL DEMANDS

• Potential for weekend and night work on occasion and as normally scheduled depending on business load and project timeline requirements.
• Required to carry blackberry or personal smart phone and be available “on-call”.
• Required to participate in 24x7x365 on call rotation
• Occasional requirements for physical equipment movement and setup
• Must be able to lift 50 pounds
• May be required to travel to and work at other corporate sites (including Boston MA, Northborough MA, Warwick Rhode Island , Medford MA and Boyers PA locations)
