Sr. Storage and Backup Recovery Administrator

Primary Duties:

The Sr. Storage and Backup Administrator will be responsible for the technical support of Shire’s internally managed enterprise storage and Backup Recovery environment.
The key area of focus will include developing standards, technology road-maps, capacity planning, process development and monitoring.

Responsibilities:

• 30% Project related work
• 50% Operational RUN Support
• 20% Documentation

Education and Experience Requirements:

• Education: Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or related field or equivalent experience required, including 7+ years in a technical environment, with experience as the senior technical resource.

• Certifications: EMC Proven Professional, IBM Certified Storage Specialist

• 5+ years of experience in the following Storage and data protection technologies
• Experience building data protection solutions using the EMC Avamar and Data Domain. Knowledge of Rubrik, Tivoli Storage Manager, Commvault, and NetBackup is a plus
• Hands on experience managing Storage for both Physical and Virtual servers
• Implementation of File Share solution preferably built upon Nasuni File servers with EMC ECS as the backend Object Storage
• Knowledge of Netapp , EMC Storage products like VMAX, VNX, Centera and Celera is a plus
• Proven ability to work well with a variety of business units and to translate their needs into technical solutions.
• Experience with performing large-scale data migrations from traditional SAN storage to newer Storage systems that are built and optimized for Virtualization and Cloud computing
• Follow and assist in the development of plans, strategies and procedures for the operations of the Enterprise Storage team.
