Sr Software Engineer II

NBI is engaged in the support and development of a number of key software development initiatives for a Prime Contractor to the DOD. We are hiring multiple S/W Developers with strong d evelopment backgrounds. Both contract and full time roles are available.

We are looking for a senior software engineer (contractor) to assist our client Cyber Threat Operations group with developing solutions specifically targeted for dealing with today’s most sophisticated cyber-attacks. This position will be responsible for developing applications that may run on Microsoft Windows, Linux and / or Macintosh, as well as various web-based technologies. A strong software engineering background is a must. Candidates should be very comfortable with a number of programming and scripting languages, not only for rapid prototyping, but also in support of some larger-scale web apps and data-driven analytics. Candidates must be able to work with minimal supervision, within a small team, and be able to effectively communicate to the team and surrounding functional areas.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned as required.

• Design and code complex units/modules/products that meet functional and business requirements on schedule and within budget.

• Develop plans outlining steps and time tables for developing programs and communicate plans and status to management and other development team members.

• Perform unit/module testing of software to find errors and confirm programs meet specifications.

• Participate in design and code reviews with other developers.

• Fix bugs, add enhancements.

The Ideal candidate will possess the following skills:

• 8+ years experience providing enterprise level software development.

• In-depth experience 5+ years with scripting languages: Perl, Python, Ruby

• Able to work independently and efficiently to meet deadlines.

• Self motivated, detail-oriented and organized.

• Excellent communication (oral and written), interpersonal, organizational, and presentation skills.

• 5+ years experience with C# – MCV.NET, .NET 4.0+, ADO.NET

• 5+ years experience with .NET 4.0, ADO.NET.

• 5+ years experience with MSSQL 2012 and newer

• 4+ years experience with JavaScript and JS frameworks (Node, Angular).

• Experience in Agile methodology (SCRUM) a plus.

• Bachelors degree preferred in Computer Science or related technical field.

Desired Qualifications:

• Experience with development IDEs and Version Control Systems (Eclipse IDE, Visual Studio, Git/Subversion)

• Database experience in open-source database platforms (mysql, postgresql).
