Sr. Project Manager

Responsible for management of Customer engagements providing billable Project Management functions from inception to completion of projects. Support end to end Project lifecycle management; working with Professional Services Sales, Consulting Management, Consultants and Accounting

Primary Responsibilities

Plan, manage, and ensure successful delivery of large scale Customer-facing projects that are typically high in complexity, length, budget, number of resources.

Responsible for building and maintaining relationships between the Customer, project teams, internal and external Delivery Partners.

Ensure smooth running of all project teams, maintain excellent communications with PS Management, across F5 teams, with the Customer and F5 Partners.

Provide Consulting Project Management to F5 Networks Customers and Partners including resource planning, budget development and tracking, -SOW task management, forecasting, process improvement and other activities as needed.

Interface with the customer’s project teams to ensure the F5 Networks aspects of the project have the proper and timely attention and support.

Generate advanced detailed project plans that convey key activities, timelines, and resource requirements necessary to achieve project objectives

Develop and manage project budget and schedule and assignments of required resources.

Follow established processes for financial and billing tasks for assigned projects billing. Develop and report project status to PS leadership, customer and F5 management and project team, including performance of the budget, schedule, quality, risks and issues, and other project metrics

Timely capture project risks and issues, drive them to resolution.

Responsible for providing revenue forecasts track and report quarterly revenue estimates to Consulting Management

Works with PS Sales and Accounting to resolve sales order questions or issues.

Manages assigned projects in PSA and reconcile with Oracle.

Aid in identifying, evaluating and developing appropriate Professional Services policies and procedures that are efficient, effective and support Corporate Policies and Objectives.

Demonstrates the ability to adapt to and lead change, and coaches project team members in the acceptance and support of change

Provides ongoing reconciliation between long-term goals and short-term actions

Takes ownership and delivery responsibility for special projects and company initiatives.

Presents information on projects, initiatives or other relevant subjects to peers, teams and upper management.

Assumes a leadership role in educating the business and technical community on Project and Program management processes and areas of expertise.

Responsible for upholding F5’s Business Code of Ethics and for promptly reporting violations of the Code or other company policies.

Maintain strong work standards, and promote productivity, accountability and high morale.

Performs other related duties as assigned.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

Proven leadership, organizational, analytical, and execution skills

Proven ability to successfully deliver complex customer-facing projects

Proven ability to manage a variety of external and internal resources including customer, partners, vendor and F5 resources

Excellent written & verbal communication as well as in presentation skills

Excellent interpersonal skills and collaborative work style; expert in negotiations and conflict management.

Proven demonstration of initiative and ability to advance projects while managing multiple initiatives

Dedicated to meeting and delivering on business objectives and project requirements

MS Office Tools (Word, Excel, Project, PowerPoint, Visio)

Proven understanding of Project Management Body of Knowledge (PMBOK) Discipline (Integration, Scope, Time, Quality, Human Resources, Communications, Risk Management, Procurement)

Qualifications

BA/BS Degree is required.

5-7 years of Project Management experience managing large scale, customer-facing initiatives.

3-5 years of Consulting Project Management experience

Proficient with project management practices and tools, with a minimum of 5 years of full lifecycle project management

PMP would be nice to have

Physical Demands and Work Environment

Duties are performed in an office environment while sitting at a desk or computer table. Duties require the ability to utilize a computer keyboard, communicate in-person and over the telephone, and read printed material.

Duties may require working outside normal working hours (evenings and weekends). Must be able to maintain a reliable work schedule.

Duties may require the ability to travel up to 25% via airplane.
