Brief Description
As a critical component of the Business Intelligence (BI) team, the BI Architect will be leading the development of key data sets and architecting solutions that solve complex business problems today as well as scale to incorporate additional sources of information to answer future questions in an evolving analytics space. You will be leveraging leading enterprise BI technologies to deliver superior analytics to a growing self-service community of analysts throughout the organization. In this position, you will be mentoring BI analysts and interacting with all levels and departments within the Zurn organization. The ideal candidate will have a proven track record of data model creation and analysis, data preparation and design, and implementing robust reporting tools & solutions.
Key Duties:
  • Design, model and implement source system data into technical solutions of reporting schemas for self-service analytics
  • Leverage best practices to design and implement enterprise scalable ETL solutions
  • Engaging with Data Scientist(s) to build data sets to be leveraged in predictive models. Sample projects include:
    • Inventory analytics
    • Forecasting & Budgeting enhancement
    • Product and Customer alignment & optimization
  • Partnering with business leaders and subject matter experts to ensure data integrity across reporting efforts
  • Provide thought leadership via research and recommendation on BI products, services, and standards
  • Propose data quality initiatives to the data team and business stakeholders
  • Advocate for data quality and increase awareness among data producers and consumers
  • Mentor and/or provide leadership to members of the team
  • Other projects as assigned

Qualifications


Qualifications:
  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree – concentrations in IT or Business preferred
  • 10+ years of experience in BI or Data Warehouse professions
  • 5+ years of data design, ETL and architecture implementation
  • Substantial knowledge of database and data structures at an enterprise level:
    • Proficiency in database tools such as Oracle, Microsoft SQL Sever
    • Experience with snowflakes, star schemas, and slowly-changing-dimensions
  • Desire to work with cross functional teams to drive objectives
  • Proven mastery of data visualization tools: Tableau or equivalent
  • Proven record for designing and implementing ETL solutions (e.g. SSIS, Informatica, Alteryx)
  • Strong skills with Microsoft Office software including Word, Excel, Access, PowerPoint and Outlook
  • Experience working with teams using predictive toolsets (e.g. SAS, SPSS, Alteryx)
  • Exceptional verbal and written communication skills
  • Self-motivated and able to work independently as well as collaboratively in team environments
  • Strong organizational and time management skills
Beneficial, but not required:
  • Experience leveraging R based statistical modeling.
  • Working knowledge of Dynamics AX
  • Experience with IBM Cognos reporting tools
