Sr. Oracle MDM Data Architect – Virtual U.S.

Hands on Oracle EBS Subject Matter Expert to lead the implementation (and maintenance) of the integrated data warehouse environment highly dependent upon Oracle EBS as a primary data source.

Primary function is to design, develop, and implement an integrated Teradata/Oracle EBS database environment, leveraging Teradata Analytics for Oracle Solutions (TAS) with other appropriate ETL and BI tools to complete the data architecture suite from

data origination, through final presentation.

Major Teradata tools include Teradata, TAS, Oracle EBS, Replication, ETL tools, and 3rd party BI tools.

Additional skills include:

High level Oracle EBS functional and MDM (Oracle DRM) knowledge which drive the replication and integration from EBS sources into Teradata models. DRM Metadata is critical to the success of this role. This individual may have a strong grasp in one functional area, such as mapping of data from the EBS system, or may be proficient in designing the load routine or may have the skills to design all areas of data flows (ETL) or third normal form (3NF) data modeling. In cases where an ETL tool is used, must be knowledgeable in these tools to match the design with the features the tool has to offer. Provides efficient design and construction of systems and subsystems to extract, condition, and load data from operational systems (EBS) and other sources into a defined physical data model, per business and technical requirements.

Of extreme importance is the ability to work with non-company, non-client project teams responsible for one of the two major areas of integration, Oracle EBS ERP.

Key Areas of Responsibility:

Customer Facing Responsibility in post-sales activities.

Interface with developers for performance and data access requirements.

Interface with system stewards to gather requirements.

Define data element requirements including history, timeliness and frequency of data.

Define volume and timing requirements.

Define and Map the ETL interface inputs including technology choices.

Define server process requirements.

Design, develop, and test processes for data acquisition from legacy systems or production databases.

Design, develop, and test processes for validating and conditioning data prior to loading into a data warehouse.

Design, develop, and test processes for loading initial data into a data warehouse.

Design, develop, and test processes for loading cyclical data into a data warehouse.

Participate in performance, integration, and system testing.

Skill set:

Strong presentation skills

Hands on experience applying data movement and integration techniques to actual business solutions

Hands on experience with Oracle metadata tools

Experience in designing, developing, and implementing relational databases

Experience in designing, developing, and implementing ETL process (batch and real time replication (Change data Capture))

Hands on data replication tool configuration and metadata management tools

Required Skills:

Strong Presentation skills

At least 5 years of functional experience with Oracle EBS

BA/BS Degree (Masters a plus)

Travel: Ability to Travel at least 75%

Minimum of 5 years working in a Senior Consultant role.

Solid understanding of Data Warehouse principles and trends within the industry.

Preferences:

BA or BS in Business or Computer Science desirable. Masters a Plus

At least 10 years of Data Warehousing experience including Teradata.

Experience within one of the Big 4 consulting firms.

Hands on general or management experience in several business disciplines such as consulting services, marketing and sales, project management, information technology, financial management, business operations, and software development, with proven ability to develop and integrate plans.

Education and Experience Requirements Section:

Experience with Teradata data warehousing highly desirable but not required

7 to 10 years in Information Technology (or equivalent).

5 to 10 years’ experience with Oracle EBS and Others

Minimum of 5 years as an internal or external consultant with broad exposure and experience in a variety of circumstances for data

warehousing.

Vertical market expertise desirable (example Manufacturing, CPG, High Tech, Retail, Communications)

Experience in working in a Systems Integrator/ Big 4 Consulting Firm with a proven track record of driving demand in solutions and services is a plus.

Hands on general or management experience in a number of business disciplines such as consulting services, marketing and sales, project management, information technology, financial management, business operations, and software development, with proven ability to develop and integrate plans.

Solid understanding of current data warehousing topics.
