The Mainframe programmer will be responsible for designing, developing and implementing various components of a large application. Key responsibilities include:

  • JCLs
  • Procedures to be used in JCLs
  • COBOL programs
  • COBOL VSAM programs
  • COBOL DB2 programs
  • COBOL IMS programsCOBOL CICS programs
  • Debugging/troubleshooting the above programs
  • Usage of Change control tools like changeman, endeavor etc.
  • Usage of batch scheduling tools like jobtrac, ca7, zeke etc.
  • TSO utilities like fileaid, xpeditor, file manager etc.
  • SYNCSORT/DFSORT/ICETOOL utilities
