Job Title: Senior Java Developer

About the Opportunity: A global leader in their industry is looking for a Senior Java Developer for a contract opportunity with the potential to be hired on full time. This is an exciting opportunity to work on mass consumer facing products used by millions of users.

Responsibilities:
Gathering functional requirements, developing technical specifications, and project & test planning.

Designing/developing web, software, mobile apps, prototypes, or proofs of concepts.

May act in a technical leadership capacity: Mentoring junior engineers, new team members, and applying technical expertise to challenging programming and design problems.

Roughly 70-85% hands-on coding

Resolve defects/bugs during QA testing, pre-production, production, and post-release patches.

Contribute to the design and architecture of the project.

Qualifications:
BS/MS Degree in computer science or equivalent experience.

5+ years’ experience developing web, software or mobile applications with at least 1 year with web services.

Experience with the entire Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC) and strong experience with Object Oriented Programming and design patterns.

Experience leveraging the Agile methodology and its tools (Rally, Jira, Confluence, Trello, etc.) for Continuous Integration and Delivery.

Strong understanding of the Software design/architecture process and experience with unit testing & Test Driven Development (TDD).

Extensive Java EE background and / or experience with node.JS.

Experience with social, mobile, cloud/SaaS, big data, or analytics.

Proficient with JavaScript.

Excellent communication skills and a passion for continuous learning.
